Is there someone on the list from Pittsylvania Co (perhaps near
Danville) who could locate or direct me to any information on the origin
of the town of Vandola. According to GNIS, it is just west of Danville,
and just south of highway 58. Can't tell if its now a suburb, or just a
spot in the road.

I had no luck at the FHL in Salt Lake City (only one county history, and
no mention of the town!), or with any volunteers on USGenWeb.

I'm particularly interested in the origin of the name, hopefully named
for an individual related to one of my ancestors. No doubt a very
unusual and uncommon name.

Thanks.
