On 8 Nov, I went out on these lists with a plea for any odd scraps
of information about James AYERS. The response was outstanding, which of
course does not surprise experienced "rooters". I have thanked each
responder individually, although I'd like to say thanks again. I also
promised to let folks know how it all turned out.
I received a lot of data bits and pieces, some of which I had and
some not. I received a lot of leads and tips, some of which were dead
ends and some I am still pursuing. And, as always, I got some offers to
do research, some of which are still pending.
In summary, I learned a lot but not enough to make a conclusive
judgement as to where James might fit in my family tree. Although the
final result was not all one might have hoped, it was still a valuable
piece of research and I wish to thank again all who helped. Tnx much.
