Looking for any information on the surname PETZOLT and its variant
spellings....
specifically August Petzolt, wife Amelia and baby son George came to
Stamford CT in 1880 from Berlin Germany...had 8 more children including
my grandfather. August's parents were Gutlieb and Dora Petzolt, Amelia's
maiden name is variously spelled Dehmel/Damel/Danzell.
The family lived in Stamford CT where August worked as a brassmoulder
and several of the sons went on to be lighthouse keepers in CT.
My grandfather Augustus moved to Brooklyn, then College Point NY in
1920.
I find many PETZOLT listings on line in the Colorado and Texas areas.
Any information on this name or on this specific family - please email
me at mpetzolt2@webtv.net
