I am looking for my grandmothers sister. Her name was MAMIE HINTON, I
believe her father was Thomas Hinton, a native of England, who died in the
San Francisco area on July 26, 1880. Her mother, Margaret Hinton, a native
of Australia, died in San Francisco's City and County Hospital on February
11, 1886. MAMIE and my grandmother, ANNIE were admitted to the Children's
Home orphanage on March 31, 1884. This orphanage was run by the Ladies
Protection and Relief Society and was located on Franklin Street, between
Post and Geary in San Francisco. The matron of this orphanage was a Miss Mary
McGladery. At the time of entering the orphanage MAMIE could have been
approximately 6 years old and ANNIE was about 5 years old. During the year of
1886- ANNIE was adopted by a couple who lived in the Seattle area, but no one
knows what ever happened to MAMIE. If anyone has any information concerning
MAMIE, I would certainly appreciate hearing from you...Thank-you...........
