I personally don't use the program,(except to use their CD's) but thought
some of you who trade gedcoms with FTM users and have trouble getting
everything to import into your program might want to use the program to
review and see if everything is importing correctly. Also someone was
looking for a cheap program.

It is obvious you don't use the program.

FTM offers a family finder/view for free download from their site. It can
be used to open a FTM file...I used it for a month to see if I liked the
program..before I bought it. You don't need to buy FTM to simply open a
Gedcom. BEsides, anyone who has FTM knows you can export files as Gedcomes,
FTM files, or a variety of other files.

I use FTM and exchange files somewhat often with users of various other
software, including PAF ...and I have NO problems exporting or importing
Gedcoms. It is only when someone has a MAC (I have a PC) do I have a
problem, and I have regarded that as a platform problem, systematic of most
software. And owning the softwared, then, won't matter.

Just my experience.....
