My g-grandfather was born "near Deer Creek at the Big Washout". This
is supposed to be along the Tennessee - North Carolina border, in TN.
The date would be around 1850. The place supposedly got the name
"Big Washout" because of flooding that did considerable damage to the
area. Does anyone have any access to data about such a place or
event? Thanks!
