Fellow Rooters:

I am trying to gather background information on a Timothy Washburne who
came to Kennebunkport Maine around 1740, according to the local histories.
I would like to know who his parents were. I checked property and tax
records, and the first mention I find of him there was his purchase of
some property in 1757. I believe that is about the same time he married
Sarah Miller, daughter of James and Margaret ( ) Miller, also of
Kennebunkport.

I did find a Thomas and Elizabeth (Howland) Washburne who had a son named
Timothy baptised in North Yarmouth, Maine. I have checked proprietary and
church records there with no information on what became of the family.
Probate records for that part of Maine were lost. I have also looked at
tax records.

The clues I have to Timothy's parentage are that he served as executor for
a David Washburne estate, no relationship established. Timothy and Sarah
did have a son named Thomas, the closest thing I have to a connection to
Thomas and Elizabeth in North Yarmouth besides that the times work.

Rooters, anyone also researching these families? Any suggestions of other
places to try?

Thanks in advance for any tips!!
