Help!

I'm a little confused. In 1767 a Luke Whitfield Sr, left a will in Cravens
District, SC. Listed was a wife Chloe and children: Luke Jr, William, Matthew,
Benjamin and Lewis. I forgot, the will was in Prince George Parish of Cravens
District, SC. The four youngest boys were to be left with William and
Constantine Whitfield, of Dobbs Co, NC.

DAR Nat No. 392510 is for a Captain Luke Whitfield, of St. Davids Parish in
Cheraws District, SC. He is to have died 12/2/1796 and had a wife named
Rachel. Could this be Luke Whitfield Jr? And who were his children.

And then I'm interested in a Lewis Whitfield (b. 1750/60), who was granted 200
acres in Burke Co, GA in 1786 and appears on cesuses of Burke Co, GA in 1820
and 1830. Could he be the son of Luke Whitfield, who died in 1767? However, on
the DAR application for Luke Whitfield (d. 1796), Lewis Whitfield of Burke Co,
GA is listed as a son.

Does anybody out there know how these two families fit together. I would be
most grateful for a little enlightenment.

                                                 Bob
