The 1850 census gives his birth as PA and the 1860 gives his birth as NJ. He was born about 1792 and died 14 Aug 860 Terrebonne Parish LA. He married Nancy GRIFFIN daughter of Abraham and Elizabeth (HAMPTON) ORRELL/ORELL GRIFFIN. Nancy was born 8 Aug 1801 and died 14 Oct 1852 Terrebonne Parish, LA. Holden WRIGHT purchased Federal Land (62 acres) in Wilkinson County, MS jointly with Roland GILES on 2 Feb 1822 with their residences as Adams County, MS. The land was later sold to Gifford D. D. FOSTER of Wilkinson County, 18 October 1835 by Holden WRIGHT. No mention of Roland GILES was made in this act of sale to Mr. Foster. This sale was recorded in Holden WRIGHT's parish of residence at Terrebonne Parish, LA. The 62 acres had since been eroded by the course of the Mississippi River and therefore no longer existed as a property of record. There is no record of the sale in Wilkinson County, MS. A descendant of Holden's still lives on his land in Houma, LA. Any help that you can give on Holden's ancestry will be greatly appreciated.
