There is an Iowa web page which does free lookups for Iowa Civil War Veterans. It is http://members.aol.com/ckenyoncpb/search.htm I haven't gotten word back on Bazaleel LaPorte, but am anxiously waiting to see if there willb e any results. Books suggestd are these:The Adjudent General's Report and Iowa Volunteers: Des Moines (1908) EH English State Printers I haven't yet gotten any information about Missouri resources listing the same type of info, but am excited and appreciative of all the help that you all have given. If more information comes my way, I'll be sure to post it.
