Patricia,
Almost every Cemetery has a section for Indigents, Unknown or what use to be
called pauper graves. I've worked on several cemetery indexes and usually,
the County is responsible and pays for the burial. There are several other
names for these graves but today, the common term is indigent graves.

The above are cemeteries in Columbus, Ohio, Cincinnati, Ohio and Delaware,
Ohio.
Joe

Hi Juanita,
Thank you for your response. I have never talked to anyone before that knew
about the existance of these graves, except a cousin who originally told me
about it. You say you fround an ancestor in one. How did you find him?
How was is marked? Are they in regular cemeteries or separate? How could I
get info on them? The one you described sounded like the one Im looking
for. When the county buries them, what do they do for ID? Well, I
appreciate any info you can give me on them. It very wll may be why I cant
find my dads death. Do they keep any kind of a record and if so where?

Thank you,
Patricia
