The database was compiled at the University of Montreal, using hundreds of resources. It is called the PRDH, and can be found at : http://www.genealogie.umontreal.ca/en/leprdh.htm The index is free to search, but a small fee is paid to get the specific information for the person. The more hits you purchase at one time the cheaper it is (150 hits= 21.00, 500= 40.00.) You can register online, but would need to call to pay by credit card if you want same day access. Also, it is important to know "Dit" names since our French relatives appeared to use one or the other at any given time. Hope this helps with your hunting. Pam
