Subject: [ROOTS-L] Re: James Dixon/Dickson b 1798 N.C.

James Dixon/Dickson is my ggg grandfather. The surname is spelled both ways until about 1920 and then the family spelled it DICKSON.
My brickwall is trying to find James C. Dixon's parents and finding his first wife.
I have alot data on the Dixon/Dickson family coming forward.
Am very happy to share my information with others researching this family.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

James and Elizabeth joined a wagon train to what is now Cooke County, Texas, arriving in June 1846.There were ads in newspapaers about Peters Colony in Texas. The James Dixons came from North Carolina to Indiana thru Missouri to Texas.
