I am researching this for my cousin's wife. Her parents were very secretive and did not keep in contact with the family so she has not much to go on. She mentioned that one time her father told her he was from the Rye area of Westchester County, New York. I would have to assume he left New York state probably after 1920 and might have been previously married? KNOWN....... Bernard O'Rourke b. about 1886 in New York Only positive census........ 1930 in Los Angeles County, California Age 44, Civil Engineer, Surveying Born New York, father b. Ireland, mother b. New York WWI Veteran Wife in the 1930 Census. Evelyn V. born abt. 1892 in Northern Ireland. Immigrated 1893, parents b. Ireland. MAIDEN NAME.....there are two versions. My cousin's wife says it was spelled "DeBrant" but the California birth records show "Brabant" on the birth records so I am not sure which is correct.
