Now don't any of you get your tail-feathers up in the air as I point out to
our writer how they can help us help them. ......

First of all, I say again .... please give your first name (Lola did) and
your location (Lola did not). I don't mean your full address just something
like Trevia, Houston, Texas. Then I'd know that I could probably offer
some one-on-one telephone help. Or I could direct "Trevia" to a good
library (ours is Clayton Library Center for Genealogical Research, of
course) or a good society with members eager to help.

Second I ask if you've done a time line with all the information you have?
Great for finding out what you missed or just to trigger an idea on where
to look. DATE NAME EVENT and add everything - like marriages,
births, deaths, but also other events such as military service, graduation
for college, etc.

Third, it is - or should be - up to the writer to give us information
instead of asking others to look it up. Memphis, Texas ... now just what
county is that in? Texas has 254 counties and one can't know every town in
every county. Yes, I can look it up if I don't know ---- the county seat
of Hall County.

"nwlin texas" needs a couple of more letters in order to even look up the
county. Always read your e-mail over a second time before hitting that send
button ..... then you may see that you need to correct something or give
additional information. Remember that what you are reading is what you are
asking others to read in order to help you.

So here's the timeline as we can glean from the request you sent ... and a
few remarks....

1878 - Tom Price b. MO
1878 - Rosa Lee Hughes b. MO
1880 - census???
1889 - Tom & Rosa md. in "nwlin???" TX
---- and children in between ----
1899 - mother (NAME???) b. in Memphis, Hall Co TX
1900 - census.... checking Hall Co TX (below) no results ....
----- who did your mother marry; and where? this may give a clue on where
else to look....
----- do you have any idea where your grandparents Tom & Rosa Lee are
buried?

1880 census .... although the birth year does not match.
Rosa Lee Hughes w/ David & Anna [Miller]
Waverly, Lafayette, MO b. abt 1865 Missouri Relationship: Granddaughter
** a look at the original census seems to say that J.D. Miller and wife
Mildred are head of the household with their son, David and his wife Anna
living with them. But note this granddaughter's names is Hughes.

No Tom Price comes up but then Tom may not actually be his first name ...

You do not give your mother's name who was b. in Hall Co TX in 1899 so could
only look up by her father's name of Tom Price ... nothing shows. her
mother's name of Rosa - no matches.
Three Price listings come up on the 1900 census for Hall Co TX - no matches.
of course they could have moved to some other county by 1900...

Your mother's birth certificate should hold some clues ... I presume that
is where you come up with the birth years of 1878 and state of MO for her
parents. Look on it and see if it says the # of children born to this
mother (Rosa)? Does it give an occupation for Tom - this may tell you if
he was moving due to work. What else do you see on that birth certificate?
take a good look it again.

Let us know if you can add anything else to what you've given and perhaps
some of us can help you ---

Trevia Wooster Beverly
Houston, Harris County, Texas
