Subject: [ROOTS-L] RE: Adoptions

ANSWER TO BELOW:

Lori,
Not sure if this will work.....However I do know that at least sometimes
"Both" the original birth name and the adopted name are on line in the
California Birth Records that are on Ancestry.

As long as you have the original birth date and "Hopefully" the county of
birth you might be able to narrow it down. That's assuming at least the first
name wasn't changed!!

Just a thought, Gretchen

ORIGINAL QUESTION:

From: Treesearcher28@aol.com
Subject: Adoptions

My older sister is trying to find her adoption records. My dad adopted her
and her brother over 50 years ago here in California. I have asked him for
the
adoptions papers and he says he does not have them anymore. How can I help
her find her adoption records?

Lori
