Subject: [ROOTS-L] MILLER

I recently was shown the grave stone for a James Miller.  He is buried in the Carr Creek Cemetery in Beford Co., TN.  A grave next to his is marked for Elizabeth Miller who is the right age to have been his wife.  James' stone was inscribed:

      Revolutionary Soldier
            James Miller
        Departed this life
     May (or Mar) 6, 1840
         Aged 86 Years
     I have fought a good
     fight and have gone
                home

James is not listed on the Patriot Index of the Daughters of the American Revolution.  My DAR Chapter would like to place an official marker on his grave, but to do this, we need to verify his service.  Does anyone have any information about this gentleman?  Any and all clues will help us.
