He must be the same Lorenza Smith who appears in the World War I Draft Registration records from Spencer County, who was born 21 July 1879. That record shows his wife as Zelma M. Smith. In the 1930 census, Lorenza and Zelma appear with the following children: Oliver (18) Louise (16) Otto (14) Rudolph (13) Russel (10) Lorenza, Jr. (8) Dorothy (7) James (4 and 11/12) In the 1920 census, the 4 oldest children also appear, but Louise appears as "Margrette". The Kentucky Birth Index shows the following children for Zelma Dearinger: Oliver, born 11 Sept 1911 Otta (probably a transcription error for Otto), born 18 May 1915 Floyd R (must be Rudolph), born 22 Feb 1917 Lorenza T., born 30 July 1921 (mother's first name is erroneously listed as "Telma") James B, born 13 Apr 1925 The following Smith children appear in the Kentucky Birth Index for Valeria Robinson: Teddy R, born 18 August 1942 Dianna L, born 8 August 1948 Deborah K, born 25 January 1954 Given that Lorenza, Sr. died in 1958, Valeria Robinson must have been married to his son, Lorenza, Jr., because according to Valeria's obituary, her husband Lorenza survived her. It reads (from the March 27, 2005 Lexington Herald-Leader): TAYLORSVILLE - Valeria "Tootie" Robinson Smith, 80, died Sat., Mar. 26, 2005. Husband, Lorenza, survives.
