I answered Alyson off-list since I didn't know others would be interested,
but creating a GEDCOM consists simply of opening the program, going to File
> Export to > GEDCOM and following the instructions there.  The Legacy
software is outstanding; the Help files are extensive and thorough; and the
LegacyUsersGroup Mailing List is excellent for fast answers.  (And I don't
even own stock!)  Try it; you'll like it a lot.  (Be aware though, that the
trial version is rather limited, naturally.  The Deluxe version is great).
