Hi Ruthann,

I have a couple of people who changed their names. I show their names as 
"aka" or also known as. I also make a note of it in my notes. If you have a 
copy of the notice from the newspaper or actually the image of a  public 
record would be even better, it would be good to include this with your 
sources.

 I had to do some research to get these sources, but I felt it was worth it. 
A couple of my mom's cousins changed their names legally when they became 
adults to reflect the last name of their stepfather who had helped raise 
them for the most part. A "legal notice" appeared in the classified section 
of the newspaper. Prior to obtaining this I had indicated the source of this 
info as "personal knowledge" and cited my mom as the source.
