She traveled to every state on the mainland us and then to England, Scotland, and Denmark. she has never used a computer, all of her letters to thousand of relatives were hand written, direct phone calls, or traveling and having face to face interviews. through her work, thousands of us have connected and kept up contact. but for many of those who are shy, or had bad experiences with those members that use us for their own pocketbooks, she was often the only connection. she never gave up on anyone, always hung in there and persisted until they would open up to her, and through her family updates that would be unknown to the rest of us have become part of our lives and history. she has become the most important role model of my adult life. I now work on family genealogy, mostly through computers and phones and have encountered my fair share of of the unresponsive, but i learned from my aunt and i keep pitching in there. good luck with your research. a.
