They arrived in the US September of 1951 and worked on a big farm in Oklahoma City. Farmers from OK City sponsored them. Gabriel drove a tractor, but he was also very good with horses (he was a Cossack in the Russian Army) and Maria worked in the farm's kitchen. Millie recalls a childhood friend, Maryanne Christianson(sp?) whom she stayed with on occasion. They worked on the farm for 2 years, then moved to Midwest City were Gabriel and Maria were cooks in a restaurant. They lived in OK for a few years before moving East to NJ. Any help would be great.
