Subject: [ROOTS-L] RE: McNamara, David Dennis

ANSWER TO BELOW:

Joe,
No luck so far around 1900 but I do have a couple of questions before I look
any further.

You didn't mention where David Dennis McNamara was born nor when John and
Bridget might have been born.

The reason I'm asking.........In the 1870 Census I found a Dennis McNamara,
age 3, (circa 1866-1867) born Wales.

Family was: John age 34 b. Ireland; Bridget age 19 b. Ireland; Thomas age 6
b. Wales; Dennis age 3 b. Wales; Ellen 2 months b. Pennsylvania.

Also living with them was a Patrick Webb age 22 b. Ireland, laborer.

Next door was another family:
There were 3 surnames in this listing:
McPhilomy (?); Kennedy; McNamara. Most were born Ireland with a few of the
younger ones born in Pennsylvania.

If this sounds like it might be the family you are looking for let me know
and I will send you the Image.
Gretchen

I am digging for information on David Dennis McNamara (b. 8/171866) who we
suspect was a resident in Boyd County, Nebraska and/or Gregory County, South
Dakota around 1900. Anyone with some clues would be appreciated. Boyd
County was pretty much established at this time but Gregory county was just
emerging from a military reserve and newly opened land.

David's parents were John and Bridget (Tully) McNamara - both born in
Ireland. Any clues on this family would be appreciated.
