Many of the "found" items are genealogy-related. I thought Roots-L would have a larger audience and maybe Rooters will know the family! This quilt may have the answers for someone's 'brick wall'. Terri -----Original Message----- I recently acquired a hand stitched family birth and death record that was made by a Ama Rathburn in 1839 after the death of her daughter Ama R. Perrin. It has a lovely poem and a city of Richland and the year of 1839. I did some checking on the city and it could be in Pennsylvania, Missouri or in Washington state. Some of the names and dates are: Samuel Perrin ( Ama Rathburn's husband ) Mar. 31, 1782 ( birth ), no date of death. Ama Rathburn May 12, 1799 (birth), no date of death Ama R. Perrin May 17, 1839 to Sept. 14, 1839 Ama Rathburns parents: John Rathburn July 8, 1770 to Jan 9, 1850 Joanna Joslin Nov 28, 1767 to Jul 12, 1829 and all of their children......Cogswell, Isabel, Betsey, Ama, Szra, Orrion, Ruth, Erastu and Alace. The sampler lists all births and almost all of the dates of death. It also includes her parents family history as well. Her fathers side: Obadiah Rathburn Feb. 6 1735 to Aug 17, 1781 Elisabeth Dawley Jan 9, 1736 to Feb 2, 1812 and their children....Margriet, Isaac and John Rathburn. The sampler also lists their birth and deaths. Her mothers side: John Joslin Sept. 9, 1734 to Oct. 25, 1811 Joanna Andrew July 8, 1733 to July 4, 1787 and their children....Henri, Andrew, Rufu, Slvester, David, John, Joanna, Ama, Isabel and Christopher. The sampler also lists their births and deaths.
