Apparently Karen, and perhaps Yvonne, haven't had 'physhing' e-mails come that say something like:

"I've been trying to get a hold of you. . . .click on the link so I can add you to my list of . . ."

You click, and by golly darn, they've "got you." You will end up changing your address, because it will
be sold to a million others.

I, like some others, use my discretion about responding "to the list" or "to the sender", depending mostly
on how long the answer is, or whether I have attachments to send.

If I get one of those "click here" responses from this, I simply delete the e-mail. I'm not going to risk
*my* eddresses on this activity.

As mentioned before, a combination of a good filter, such as Norton, and a good ISP, such (in my case) as
Cox, will stop 99% of the "bad" e-mails. I just deleted eleven from my "catcher" that had come in over
four days on five addresses.

So, if you want a response, but don't want to open your e-mail, tell us in advance. Let your helpers
decide *before* we go to a lot of effort whether or not we want to go to the trouble and risk of clicking
on your "good guy" button.

Another choice, by the way, is that most ISPs allow more than one eddress. You could have one "open"
address and use it for all these lists. Then, you will "protect" your "personal" eddresses.

|
|Well it all looks pretty simple to me...If you want your
|email to get through merely click on the link below....
|
|You don't always know who is going to be answering your post.
|If you knew for sure then you'd add them to the list of
|'allowed' addresses.

|I sent an email to the following party. This is what I
|received regarding
|that email.
|
|I had also sent the response to ROOTS so hope Yvonne reads it
|there as I
|didn't have the time or patience to respond to the questions
|that were asked.
|
|Reminder to those asking questions. Please see that your SPAM
|filter is
|turned off so that you can receive your messages.
|Thank you, Gretchen
