Subject: [ROOTS-L] Re:James Miller

In the Index of Revolutionary War Pension Applications I find the following:
MILLER, James, Pa, Elizabeth, W7457. Another woman, named Mary, applied for
pension as wid. of this soldier.
MILLER, James, S.C. S2828
Unless you know for sure which of these is yours, I would suggest you first
get to the nearest National Archives Regional center and try to look at
these files on microfilm. Then, you can either order the copy right there,
or, if you're sure which one is right from the above information, go to the
NARA website (www.NARA.gov I think), where you can order copies of the
application forms to be sent to you. When they arrive, fill one out and
follow the instructions there for sending it in. Sharon
