Looking for a Robert Baxter that resided there in September 1898 and was a brother of George L. Baxter of Saratoga County, New York. -- According to the Historical and Statistical Gazetteer of New York State, it is in Rensselaer County. Entry reads: Schaghticoke - was formed as a district, March 24, 1772, and as a town March 7, 1788. Pittstown was taken off Mar 7, 1788 and a part of Lansingburgh in 1819. It lies on the Hudson, in the n.w. corner of the county.
