Subject: [ROOTS-L] For town names use the 1895 atlas as a starting point.

Hi Teri & All,

I looked in my 1895 atlas and sure enough the town is listed there. Here is
the link.

http://www.livgenmi.com/1895/NY/Index/s.htm

You can also see the town shown on the county map at this link.

http://www.livgenmi.com/1895/NY/County/rensselaer.htm

For anyone looking for place names at that timeframe please make use of the
1895 atlas as it shows thousands of towns & villages.

As always, the cost for this information is for you to go out and give
someone a hug right now, whether they feel they need it or not because time
is so fleeting, they may not be there next time you have the urge. Believe
me this IS important, it happened to me.

Subject: [ROOTS-L] looking for location of city

Does anybody know where a city called Schaghticoke is located?
Looking for a Robert Baxter that resided there in September 1898 and
was a brother of George L. Baxter of Saratoga County, New York.
