Subject: [ROOTS-L] TRAN or TRONE or TROAN , Peter Diedrick "Tetrick" born 1726 in Germany

Happy Spring Listers!

Would some kind person who has an Ancestry
account please look up the name of Peter Diedrich/k
AKA “Tetrick” TRAN? Other spellings of his name
include TROAN or TROHN or TRAM or THRAM or THRAME or
THROME or THROM or TRONE or THRON or THRONE or TRON
born 1726 in Germany? I am curious to know if there is
any record of him showing his parents' names.
I do have his ship list info. He emigrated to America
on the Ship Louisa in 1753. The ship last departed
the port Cowes, England. Tetrick arrived in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 3 Oct. 1753. He could
not read or write and signed with an “X.”

On the Ship his surname was TRAN and he was
classified as a “foreigner.” In the German/Deutsche
language there is no “TH” sound; therefore, the “H”
may have been part of his surname yet not written down
in the ship rosters. Phonetically the “H” may have
been silent. Also, two descendants of his described
Tetrick's ancestry as Scotch, however, they added that
Tetrick was from Germany.

I appreciate any suggestions given. I
understand that writing to German churches would be
helpful. I just don't know his place of origin
exactly. Some TRAN or THRON families today live in
Karlsruhe, Germany.

Sincerely,
  Laura:)
