Subject: [ROOTS-L] Passenger List Help HODICK
Sender: roots-in@roots-l.rootsweb.com

I am searching for my great grandfather's parents. His name was
Edward HODICK and he was born in 1866 in the area of what I believe
was once part of the Austro-Hungarian empire. Census records that I've
found in 1900, 1920 and 1930 indicate Bohemia as his birthplace;
family lore had him born in Bavaria. I did find a passenger list for
the ship Pennland (of the Red Star Line) in 1885 showing an Ed HODICK,
age 18, originating in Austria and arriving in NY (I think) from St.
Kitts. He was heading towards Tomhicken PA. How might I follow up on
this passenger list to verify -- or debunk -- the theory that this man
(traveling with others of the same surname) was my great-grandfather?
