Subject: [ROOTS-L] need help reading cause of death on death certificate

Greetings,

This subject may have come up before, but I am having
an awful time reading the handwriting on my
grandfather's death certificate.

It is for one Kennie Smith of Perry County Kentucky (b
05 May 1904 to Larkin Smith and Eliza Combs) who died
02 Feb 1943.

Kennie Smith seems to have died from complications
relating to surgery (to remove a bullet lodged near
his heart) at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota (he
apparently returned home before dying).

We're still unsure how or when he was shot, although
it seems likely to have been years earlier. He had
been in the service in the 1920s, and although there
were no foreign conflicts at the time there may have
been an accident of some sort.

The cause of death seems to be something like "Mayo(?)
Car-something...or Cor-something". Anyone have any
insights?

Best regards,

Kenneth
