    Those little flash/thumb drives are fairly inexpensive and very 
convenient for backing up one's genealogy database, world processing or 
other files.  They work just like a floppy and one does not have to think 
about the cd burning process which can be somewhat complicated.

    I am remembering that FTM stores it pictures within the database, which 
might require a cd or dvd in some instances to back up file and photos. The 
flash drives come in different storage capacities, so depending on the size 
of a file, they may work for most people.
