Subject: [ROOTS-L] Property Deed - Jefferson Co. IA

Can someone tell me who I should contact to do a title search on a 
piece of property that was purchased in 1880 in Jefferson Co. Iowa 
and then disposed of a few years later.  I'm interested in knowing 
the disposition of it after one of the owners died.

I have the legal description and know the owners name and the date it 
was purchased as well as the approximate date it was transferred to 
someone else.

This is strictly for genealogical reasons and I wasn't sure if there 
are researchers who will go to the court house and search the 
property records or if I need to contact a Realtor.
