Subject: [ROOTS-L] Re: Mebergs in South Africa/US

I recently saw that someone on the list was from South Africa. 

I do not know how to research this, but my relative David Jonnes Meberg was 
born in Norway in 1865. At some point he emigrated to South Africa. There he 
had at least two sons--David M. Meberg born in Durban around 1895 and Bjarne 
born in Capetown around 1892.

His son David M. emigrated to the US at some point as I begin to find record 
of him here around 1918.

Any assistance in getting further information would be greatly appreciated. I 
do not know his wife's name, when he left Norway or when he arrived in South 
Africa, or when his son arrived in the US.
