Subject: [ROOTS-L] Station Master in SC

Hi Suzanne

Knowing the name of the railroad which employed your ancestor would be a
good starting place. Also learning how long this ancestor lived would be
useful information. The Railroad Retirement system began in the mid part of
the 1930's and if your ancestor worked for another 20 plus years as station
master there is a good probability there is a file in the railroad
retirement board records in Chicago.

If the ancestor worked for a major rail line which is still in business
today you should search for their archives collection.
