Subject: [ROOTS-L] Conrad-Weiss-Greiber

Conrad-Greiber-Weiss

Hi:

Searching for information on my grandfather and greatgrand fathe.

Would appreciate help in the direction that I should go.

Willing to share information that I have.

My grandfather GEORGE CONRAD was born on the 4th day of Novenmber 1834 in Germany. (see note at end). He was the son of MATTHEW CONRAD and BARBARA SEDIALLER/SELALLER? CONRAD. He died on the 6th day of December 1810 in Philadelphia, PA.

He married HELENA GREIBER about 1871 in Germany.

My grandmother HELENA GREIBER was born on the 18th of March 1851 in Germany. She was the daughter of JOHN GREIBER and BARBARA WEISS.

She died on the 11th of June 1932 in Philadelphia, PA.

My mother MATILDA (CONRAD) HUMMEL was born on the 13th of April 1884 in Germany. She died on the 16th of May 1961 in New Jersey.

They came to America on the "S.S.Ship Rhynland" from Antwerp and arrived in New York on the 4th of October 1888.

NOTE;

I say Germany because I have heard from family members places such as NEUNKIRCHEN (we have a picture of grandmother taken in the Bahnhofstrasse, by "Wilhelm Atelier".

My aunt Louise said Alsace-Lorraine/ Elsass-Lothringen.

Other places; PRUSSIA, FRIEDRICHSTHAL near SAARBRUCKEN.

What to do or believe??

Any suggestions of what to do next or where to go for more information.

Thanks a bunch

Frank Hummel
