Subject: [ROOTS-L] Census - roomer vs boarder vs logder

I have been transcribing the census for my family
surname. In the 1920 census I find the use of roomer,
lodger and boarder. I once thought they were used
interchangeably but now I don't think so. I found several
households with both lodgers and boarders listed.
What is the difference?
Thanks,
Sharon
