Your tree got butchered?

Ancestry.com has NOT butchered your tree at all. Very much intact.
If you would just pay attention to one small detail - the little yellow
caution triangle sign, just like those road sign you see, you will 
discover that, when you click on that name, you will see there are more 
than one possiblity - only in that search engine. When you want to see 
the source, you will find the tree isn't chopped up at all.

As for Familysearch, they stopped merging the Ancestral File (AF) in 
1998. Submissions are kept intact and go to Pedigree Resource File (PRF) 
now.
