Subject: [ROOTS-L] One World Trees

I have often wondered why the original "One World Tree" could not remain just that and "locked" and a copy of it added so that others can add or remove or otherwise change the information. I have seen really thoughtless entries to these trees; i.e. a parent born in 1820 and a child born in 1824 or born even before the parent and other similar ridiculous entries.
There is one tree online that is my "brick wall" line. However, the submitter is listed as "contact unknown". In cases where the submitter is unknown due to no update of e-mail address, etc, is there a reason why the name could not be left with the original tree and perhaps the date? Lynne in Texas
