No Cornelia, you are not expected to
correct anything on One World Tree. Ancestry
is very open about the concept of it & all know
that it is user submitted & not documented. I
would suggest that you ignore that part of
Ancestry. I do if I'm looking for facts & only
resort to it when looking for leads.
I have an ancestor with a fairy tale record
that started with a book written by a well
meaning woman back in 1978. Since that time,
all researchers follow that book in the beginning
only to find some of the information is false when
they obtain the correct documents. This particular
ancestor is on One World Tree with the same
information contained in that book.
I correct that information with my documentation
as often as I can because I want those researchers
on the correct path as soon as possible. The more
they know, the sooner they can find the gaps that
I seek. But that's my choice. We all have a choice.
Just remember that Ancestry's trees are user
submitted & not a document made up by Ancestry.
One World Tree is more like a forum.
     Sincerely, Donna
