The biggest problem I had was the tools menu didn't have "options." I humbled myself and called my guru kid and she said it might be lower than the main tools menu, so click on the down arrow and see if it is there. (I can drive a car but I can't fix it.) It was. From then on, I was able to follow instructions sent to me...thank you all...you are my knights...and now I can edit out those oops and later, when I'm done with the mss., the surnames I won't need anymore.
