For someone who doesn't know how this works you did a great job! :). People
subscribe to the mailing lists that appeal to them (this one, lists for
specific localities, surnames, etc). You can subscribe in Digest mode where
a bunch of messages appear in one mailing or in the form of receiving an
email for each post made to the lists. If you have a question, brick wall,
etc. regarding genealogy and/or your searches that you need help with, you
post to the board like you did. It helps to use a brief yet descriptive
subject line (which you did). The more information you provide and the more
specific information you ask for (spouse, parents, birthplace, etc), the
better others on the list are able to help you (you did a great job with
this, too!). Use the site to obtain assistance with your tough spots, and
to connect with others researching along the same lines as you are. Welcome
to the list! And don't forget to check out all the other great resources at
Rootsweb, such as the message boards, guides, and other information they
have on the site.
