Subject: [ROOTS-L] RE: Given name 'Dieliew'

ANSWER TO BELOW:

Marcy,
I typed in only a first name of Dieliew into Ancestry.com. The only items
that came up were in Texas.

A couple of World Tree Entries, address/phone directories, US Public
Records, Social Security Death Index, Texas birth and marriage indexes and two
censuses. An 1880 on Dieliew Rose, daughter b. circa 1864 Texas and a 1930 Dieliew
L. Leach married to Felix H. Leach with 4 children. She was born about 1889
in Texas. Nothing came up at all as a "Surname"

Tried the same with Google typing in just Dieliew. They came up with about
650 sites. Didn't check to see what they were but glanced at a few of them and
they seem to be Genealogy sites.....at least the first ones were.
Hope this helps a little, Gretchen

Subject: Given name 'Dieliew'

In your research, has anyone else run across a woman's given name with this
spelling, most likely in the early 1800's or before? The pronunciation is
close to "Delia" or "Dilyou."
