My CROSS brick wall is my grgr grandfather, WASH CROSS. This is what I have currently: 1. Said to have married a Martha Slaughter somewhere in Alabama. 2. His year of birth range is 1847 - 1857. 3. Per the 1870 Census it appears that he was named with Cyprian Riddick and Enda (Armbrester) CROSS (slave owners) in Kymulga, Talladega Co, Ala. He was shown as WASHINGTON CROSS. His age was noted as 20, which would make him born around 1850. 4. In 1880, based on consistency of location, appears he was on the Census for Talladega, Ala, Dist 177, P8. 5. I have him on the 1900 Census, Munford, Jenifer Towne, Ala, Prec 18, YOB 1847, May, age 53. He is with his wife, Martha and children: Cornelius, Katy, Elijah (my gr grandfather), Warren, and Percy. 6. On the 1910 Census, Ala, Talladega, Silver Run, Dist 123. He is shown as 60, YOB 1850. He is living with wife, Martha, and son Warren. 7. 1920 Census he is in Silver Run, Talladega, Dist 181. He is shown with wife, Martha, son Cornelius, and daughter-in-law, Gertrude. This is an African-American lineage. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Please pass this on to someone that you think might tie into this lineage or that might have some helpful information. I have yet to locate WASH's nor MARTHA'S death and place of burial.
