Subject: [ROOTS-L] re: LDS volunteering

Re: Their rule also is you must be a member of the church to even
volunteer for the LDS.

whoever wrote this...

1. Local Family History Centers do not require you to be LDS to
volunteer there.

2. Only at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, you have to be
LDS, serving as part time Church Service Missionary, full time Senior
Missionary, and yes even young missionaries (growing segment in the
staff now to handle technical, labor and other stuff the senior
missionaries can not do), as well as paid consultants and library
attendants. This does not apply to the professional genealogists for
hire. They are completely separate and do not work for the Family
History Library.
