Well, this book is no stranger to me! c. 1926, we purchased our copy
sometime in the 1950s for $3.00.
I presume you have access to the book and have read the material presented,
but for those who may not - and my copy does not have an index (perhaps some
later edition does), JOHN ROGERS is treated in Chapter XVI, "Persecutions in
England During the reign of Queen Mary." Pg 209 (in my copy) "John Rogers,
Vicar of St. Sepulcher's, and Reader of St. Paul's, London." While there is
no genealogical details, no mention of family, John Rogers 'was educated at
Cambridge,' and there are some personal names and some locations that might
give way to research. Perhaps you have already accessed
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adriana_of_Antwerp which does give biographical
information:
John Rogers (c. 1500 - 4 February 1555) was a minister, Bible translator and
commentator, and the first English Protestant martyr under Mary I of
England. He was born in the parish of Aston, near Birmingham, and was
educated at Pembroke Hall, Cambridge University, where he graduated B.A. in
1526. In 1532, he was rector of Holy Trinity, Queenhithe, London, and in
1534, he went to Antwerp as chaplain to the English merchants of the Company
of the Merchant Adventurers. ...... more .....

Good luck! I hope you find the connection! What a lucky gal, your wife,
that you're doing the research for her.
