I got many different responses regarding limiting my database. Apparently it
seemed to most people that I figured I had finished my genealogy research and
was ready to quit - NO WAY. I am just trying to make things more
manageable for the family book I am work on.
I am fortunate to have some major colonial names in my ancestry and so
finding information on the Parkers and Whitneys and others was not terribly
difficult. I continue to search for spousal family lines that were never as well
documented.
And I have several brickwalls for my great great grandparents and others.
But I am not into collecting names...I want stories and information. So it
seemed to me that 15,000 to 20,000 was just way to overwhelming for that kind
of personal data.
Yes - there were marriages between cousins and back and forth across my
family lines, I keep those links in tact.
I guess I am the only person that has had this concern, but I have had a
great deal of response from people and that has been helpful.
Thanks everyone.

Is the collection itself what matters, or is the process important to
you. If you are hooked on "solving" the mystery, then why not continue.
I envy you that much data. I have too many brick walls and in one
instance can not get past my great grandparents. Congratulations, you
are a pro!!!
