Klaas Klaij was married to his third wife Aajte Bakker when he arrived in America. He had a brother Tenuis Klaij that also immigrated to the US. The Smit brothers came to America in the early 1900's I believe. Andries married Trinjte Zeeman( AKA Kitty) and settled in South Dakota, then moved to San Bernadino, CA. The other brothers Jan and Wouter may have settled in Nebraska, Iowa or Montana. There few several Smits and Klaij that immigrated so I need to narrow it down. Anyone with information to offer would be greatly appreciated. Lorretta Creelman.
