Are you referring to the UK Free BMD? If you are then this site is really very good for a first siting of a possible death that took place up to about 1915 but you are not able to get the actual Birth Death or marriage Certs this way. The only way to be certain that it is your ancestor on this site is to send for the actual certificate at a cost of £7 per certificate otherwise the info you have gleaned for free from Free BMD has to remain supposition only and not fact.
