Subject: [ROOTS-L] origin of the surname Lansiquot

can you help to confirm if my surname is in fact french or native st lucian 
some of my family say it is native st lucian but are not to sure. also does 
anybody know the original spelling as the english changed it to the above 
spelling. I have also been informed this might be a dit name but none of my 
family can confirm this either. This information would be of great help to 
assist me with tracing my ancestors.
